Safe in God's Care
FaithWalkDaily October 7, 2008
In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. ~ Psalm 4:8
As I've been dealing with a bad hip and all that entails, I'm in constant pain and don't get much sleep or exercise. The combination of pain, weariness and inactivity wreak havoc on my state of mind.
Yet God's word assures me that I'm in good care. He keeps me safe. despite all the curve balls life throws my way, God is always behind me to call the plays.
I know that God in heaven has a handle on every detail of our world. He knows what's going on, what's best and what the outcome will be. I can rest, even if I can't sleep. I can breath easy knowing the God of the universe who created me has a perfect plan and I am safe with Him. I can pray.
Heavenly Father, though I'm weary, I welcome this pain and all that goes with it because I know nothing happens without reason and there's nothing I go through that You don't walk through with me. I welcome Your refining fire so that ultimately my life will glorify You. Thank You Jesus for walking through torture and death for my sake! I offer this humble sacrifice that You would give me victory and joy in this pain as a testimony of the peace and protection I find in You. In Jesus' name, amen.
